Invited by Prof. Rui Miranda Julião was today at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon to talk about “Public and Social Sector – What articulation is intended”.
My intervention addressed the following points:
- A little history and the paradox of the healthcare system;
- Public policies: NHS + Social Security System;
- New needs, old problems;
- New models, new partnerships.
I have addressed the issue of integrating health care with social care in various contexts, seeking to address the public and social. I highlight some recent articles/interviews:
- today, bê-á-bá for the integration of care
- A new cycle for the Public Hospital
- "There are hospitals with 200 beds hired in nursing homes"
The session is integrated in the Conference Cycle “Ends of the afternoon in the city” under the theme 'New perspectives for the future of health in Portugal'.
I had the honor of sharing the panel with Prof. António Tavares, Ombudsman of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Porto. The panel was led and moderated by Rui Miranda Julião, professor and coordinator of the School of Health Administration and Management at ISCSP-ULisboa and Carlos Marques, vice president of the Portuguese Society for Health Management.
